Update: I've been in a cleaning/organizing frenzy. My rec room has a whole new look, things moved around, toys pared down, and, *gasp* the coffee table is being used as a coffee table! Even the storage closets are organized, and I whittled my boxes of photos down to just one bag to keep. Maybe it won't be too overwhelming to get some photos printed now!
Here are a few photos that were collecting dust on the camera:

Today we ventured out to Meadowlark Gardens for our weekly Montessori playgroup. They had free backpacks to check out filled with subject specific paraphernalia - one for insects, one for butterflies, and one for birds. They contained subject-related books, tools to aid in observation (magnifying glass, binoculars), and small guides to flip through to aid in identifying. I'm not a kid any longer, but these bags were cool! We checked out one of each, and went on a tromp through the garden, pointing out the different bugs we came across. I managed to catch ( with camera of course) a large praying mantis, a bumble bee, some swallowtail butterflies, and even a monarch butterfly. I didn't get a shot of the one honey bee I came across, although I should have, as I've seen a total of two or three this whole summer!
Later, Tina got the girls on a bench, and an impromptu photo session occurred (of course!). Enjoy the photos!
